Requirements Testing

Destructive Ball

Benefits

Requirements savy testers can ensure that only verifiable requirements make the cut. And if the testers get involved with the requirements effort at the early stages of the project, they give themselves time to plan and prepare the testing effort. In the end, the winners of such a situation will be the project team and, crucially, the client organisation. See Requirements and Testing - Opposite Sides of the Same Coin.

The Capiro Approach

We believe that in most situations the multi-disciplinary-team is the ideal approach - the team will of course contain a tester. However, whatever the team structure, we encourage testers to get involved in reviews of requirements well before these requirements have been baselined. And once involved, a regular communication must occur. Testers are a prime quality checker of requirements.

You can create tests directly from requirements models. To learn how to read and create such models, see details of our training course UML 2 For Business Analysts.
